Crop Plot Condition Checks

Checking plant status helps keep a crop plot productive by directing attention to unmet growing conditions.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Crop Plots in a sheltered growing room or greenhouse at a prospect base.

A plot is useful only when its crop can meet the conditions it needs. Rather than adding every possible growing aid by default, inspect the plant status and identify what is missing. Lighting, greenhouse conditions, watering, and fertilizer systems can contribute depending on the plot and its hookups. Use the conditions shown for the planted crop to guide your setup, then harvest and preserve seed for the next cycle.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Crop Plot and seeds for the intended crop.
  • A growing room or greenhouse setup where applicable.
  • Access to the plot's water, fertilizer, or lighting hookups as needed.
  • Storage to separate harvested food from seed reserves.
  1. Choose the crop based on the meal or production output you want.
  2. Place the Crop Plot in the growing area and plant the selected seed.
  3. Inspect the plant's status to see which conditions are unmet.
  4. Add only the available lighting, greenhouse, watering, or fertilizer support that addresses the displayed needs.
  5. Check the status again after making changes and correct any remaining listed condition.
  6. Harvest when the plant is ready and divide produce among food, processing, and seed reserves.
  7. Use the retained seeds to restart the crop when the next harvest is needed.

Farming tips

  • Let the plant's status guide which support to add; plot hookups and tiers can differ.
  • Keep the growing space near your storage and production stations so harvested crops are easy to sort.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat for each planting cycle and recheck conditions after changing crop, plot, or room setup. Results depend on the crop and plot configuration.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming every plot needs the same utilities; inspect the current plant status and available hookups.
  • Adding fertilizer or lighting without checking whether it addresses a listed need; match inputs to the displayed condition.
  • Using all harvested crops before saving seed; reserve planting stock first.

When to stop or switch

Stop adjusting the setup when the plant status shows its required conditions are met and the farm produces enough for your planned use.
