CRAFTING & INGREDIENTS

Harvest and replant

Overworld — matching trees, then a lit growing area near your base.

A small tree plot turns matching saplings into a repeatable supply of logs. Choose the tree species for the wood your project needs, leave room for its growth pattern, and replant after each harvest.

How to craft

Before you craft

  • Matching saplings and clear planting space.
  • Axe recommended for faster harvesting.
  • A lit growing area and room above each sapling.
  1. Find the tree species whose logs or planks your project requires and collect its logs and saplings.
  2. Choose a level planting area near your base where you can see and reach every tree.
  3. Plant saplings with adequate spacing and overhead clearance; keep the plot lit.
  4. For spruce or jungle trees, use a four-sapling 2×2 arrangement when growing the large form; dark oak requires that arrangement.
  5. Harvest the grown tree and collect reachable logs and fallen saplings before starting the next one.
  6. Craft logs into matching planks, or keep logs intact when a recipe or build calls for them.
  7. Replant the harvested saplings and leave the plot clear for the next growth cycle.

Crafting tips

  • Keep a few spare saplings in storage so an accidental loss does not end the planting loop.
  • If a sapling does not grow, inspect overhead blocks and lighting before replacing it.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable while you retain saplings and keep the plot suitable for growth.

Common mistakes

  • Using the wrong species for a project: verify the required wood before processing logs.
  • Blocking the growth space: remove nearby obstructions and preserve overhead clearance.
  • Crafting every log immediately: hold some back if your recipe or build needs logs rather than planks.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the required processed wood plus enough saplings to replant the plot.
