WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
High Rank Field Investigations registered from roaming monsters; use Hunter’s Notes for material conditions.
A targeted hunt is more useful when the monster and reward conditions match the part you need. Hunter’s Notes identify whether an item can come from target, break, carve, or wound rewards. Investigation previews help select a hunt with a listed guaranteed reward. Focus on the relevant body part when the Notes identify a break condition, and collect wound drops when the listed condition calls for them. At the end, inspect the actual rewards rather than assuming a break guarantees a rare item. Use the part in the recipe that prompted the hunt.
Unlock High Rank Investigations and discover the target monster.
Have the monster’s Hunter’s Notes available.
Identify the exact material and its listed reward condition.
Open Hunter’s Notes and find the target monster’s material entries.
Identify whether the item is associated with target, break, carve, or wound rewards.
Open the region map and inspect the roaming monster’s guaranteed Investigation rewards.
Save a hunt whose listed reward matches the material when available.
Launch it through Alma and focus on the body part or wound condition indicated in the Notes.
Complete the hunt and collect part-break, wound, and quest rewards that appear.
Compare inventory with the crafting recipe and repeat only if the part remains missing.
Farming tips
Use Focus Mode and Focus Strikes to expose and attack wounds when the material condition calls for wound rewards.
Verify an item’s capture or slay condition individually; do not assume a series-wide rule.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat eligible Investigations while the material is missing. Saved attempts are limited and rare rewards are not guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Breaking a different part from the one tied to the item; check Notes first.
Assuming a break guarantees its reward; inspect the results and continue if needed.
Registering without checking reward slots; preview guaranteed rewards before spending attempts.
When to stop or switch
Stop once the recipe has the required part. Switch targets if the Field Guide points to another condition or the Investigation offers no useful reward.
