Region levels control which monsters and material tiers become available, so raising the relevant region is a key step toward targeted Iceborne augments.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Forest, Wildspire, Coral, Rotten Vale, Volcanic, and Tundra regions in the Guiding Lands.
The Guiding Lands are an Iceborne post-story area. Hunting monsters and gathering in a region raises its level and helps unlock higher-tier monsters and materials there. Region balance can shift as you develop other regions, so check the current levels and target availability before committing to more leveling.
Own Iceborne and finish its story to unlock the Guiding Lands.
Know which monster or regional gathering material your augment recipe requires.
Use Hunter’s Notes to check the target’s region and level requirements.
At the Smithy, inspect the weapon augment recipe and note the Guiding Lands materials it lists.
Enter the Guiding Lands and check the current region levels and monster availability in Hunter’s Notes.
Focus hunts and tracks in the region associated with the needed monster or material.
Gather the region’s mining outcrops and bonepiles as you travel through it.
Recheck the region level and monster list as progression changes.
When the target becomes available, hunt it and collect the required drops.
Farming tips
Check the recipe before raising regions so you know which area matters.
Lock region levels when you need to preserve a balance among several regions; review the in-game level state before continuing.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat hunts and gathering as needed. Region leveling is a progression activity, not a limited quest with a fixed number of attempts.
Common mistakes
Leveling a region without checking the recipe: confirm the required material and habitat first.
Assuming a monster is available at any level: check Hunter’s Notes for its unlock conditions.
Ignoring region-level shifts: recheck levels when developing other regions, and lock them if available and useful.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the required monster or node tier is available and you have collected the recipe materials; switch regions if the needed target belongs elsewhere.
