Processing Copper Ore into Copper Bars

Smelting Copper Ore turns a ruin resource into a usable workshop material for builds and orders.

PC / Global, full release
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Copper-bearing patches in Abandoned Ruins #1, then a smelting machine at the Workshop.

Copper Ore is gathered in Abandoned Ruins #1; bars are produced back at the Workshop. Treat this as a two-part chain: gather ore with a pickaxe, then process it at the appropriate smelting machine. The useful stopping point is the amount required by the next build, with a small reserve if other active plans also call for copper.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Weekly pass for Abandoned Ruins #1 and a pickaxe.
  • A smelting machine able to process the ore.
  • Fuel and machine capacity as shown in game.
  1. Check current build and commission lists for Copper Bar needs.
  2. Enter Ruins #1 with the weekly pass and mine copper-bearing patches.
  3. Return to the Workshop with the Copper Ore and sort it from relic finds.
  4. Open the appropriate smelting machine and select Copper Bars if the recipe is available.
  5. Load ore and fuel according to the machine’s displayed requirements.
  6. Collect finished bars and reserve the quantity needed for the planned build before selling or spending extras.

Farming tips

  • Start smelting while you work on another task so machine time does not block the day.
  • Keep raw ore and completed bars in separate stacks to avoid miscounting available stock.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat as needed; mining and smelting are ongoing, but each batch consumes ore, fuel, and machine time.

Common mistakes

  • Putting ore into a machine without checking its recipe or fuel requirement stalls production; inspect the interface first.
  • Counting raw ore as finished bars overstates build readiness; check output after collection.
  • Selling the full batch can delay a build; reserve active requirements before shipping surplus.

When to stop or switch

Stop mining and processing when the bar count covers current plans and a reasonable reserve, then turn to the next material shortage.
