Processing Iron Ore into Iron Bars
Iron-bearing patches in Abandoned Ruins #2 after story access, then a smelting machine at the Workshop.
Before you go
- Story access to Ruins #2 and a weekly pass.
- Pickaxe for ore patches.
- A suitable smelting machine and the fuel shown by its interface.
Farming steps
- Check which upcoming workshop item requires Iron Bars and note the needed quantity.
- Buy the Ruins #2 access pass and enter with a clear inventory.
- Mine iron-bearing patches and collect the ore.
- Return to the Workshop and compare raw ore with existing bar stock.
- Select Iron Bars at a suitable smelting machine, then load the required ore and fuel.
- Collect the completed bars and keep the amount for active tasks before using or selling surplus.
- Queue bars before a long gathering trip so machine time overlaps other work.
- Do not spend the weekly pass searching Ruins #1 for later-tier ore; use the unlocked later ruin.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat on later passes when stock is depleted; each batch uses ore, fuel, machine capacity, and time.
Common mistakes
- Mining in the wrong ruin can fail to supply the later ore tier; confirm the story has opened Ruins #2.
- Assuming every machine has the same recipe can waste a queue; inspect available recipes first.
- Using all bars on a low-priority order can block progression construction; reserve known requirements.
When to stop or switch
Stop once the planned bar requirement is met and the next machine queue is more valuable for another material.
