Snow Caves
Caves beneath Snow biomes; continue to Deep Snow Caves for Glacial Ore.
Before you go
- Access to a Snow biome and cave entrance.
- A suitable Pickaxe and combat equipment.
- Food, light and room for ore and other cave materials.
Farming steps
- Confirm that Glacial Ore is the material you need and prepare the matching crafting plan.
- Travel to a Snow biome and locate a cave entrance.
- Explore the cave carefully, gathering useful Iron or other materials if desired.
- Continue into Deep Snow Caves rather than ending the trip in the ordinary layer.
- Clear nearby threats and mine visible Glacial Ore with your Pickaxe.
- Check nearby branches for additional target veins while monitoring supplies.
- Return to the settlement and smelt ore into bars for the intended recipe.
- Use the destination depth as a route checkpoint: Glacial Ore is the Deep Snow target.
- If you only need Iron, a nearer cave can serve; Snow is not required for that material.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Deep Snow trips as needed for more Glacial Ore; quantities vary with the explored cave.
Common mistakes
- Stopping in ordinary Snow Caves when seeking Glacial Ore: continue into Deep Snow.
- Traveling without a specific ore goal: identify the recipe first and carry only a useful target list.
- Ignoring combat preparation: bring food and weapons suitable for the cave route.
When to stop or switch
Return when you have enough Glacial Ore for the chosen recipe or when supplies make a deeper exploration unsafe.
