WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Corrupted altar summons in the active Monoliths of Madness zone.
Purifying corrupted altars awards Shards and advances the server-wide Nightmare bar. Multiple-player purification is the strongest stated way to advance that shared bar, so this guide focuses on organizing the encounter and collecting its rewards rather than solo damage optimization.
Level 20 or higher and campaign access to the active region.
The correct lure count for the selected altar: three Lesser for the first or three Greater for the second.
Nearby players or a group willing to fight the summon.
Confirm the active region and locate its corrupted altar objective.
Check your inventory for the altar’s required lure tier and quantity.
Ask nearby players to join or join an existing group before activating.
Use the altar to summon the nightmare encounter.
Fight the summon while following its visible combat cues and supporting the group.
Complete the purification and collect Shards and any displayed lure reward.
Check the event interface to confirm your contribution to Nightmare progression.
Farming tips
Coordinate the first and second altar attempts so players know which lure tier is needed.
Altar purification is a high-value shared-progress activity; use it during the active zone week.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat while altars and lures are available in the active region. The region rotation limits access; this is not an always-available global encounter.
Common mistakes
Activating before assembling help: gather players first for the summon.
Bringing the wrong lure tier: verify the altar number and item name.
Leaving without collecting credit: confirm Shards and shared bar progress in the interface.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the intended altar reward is credited and the shared bar reflects contribution; switch to another event objective if no further lures remain.
