Smithing Texts unlock forge recipes permanently, and some are dropped by a named boss. Pick the precise item first, confirm the recorded boss source, and make short, repeatable attempts on a difficulty where that text can drop. Item Drop Rate is the relevant preparation; a text is not assured on each kill.
Before you go Unlock the mission containing the named boss. Confirm that the item’s source is that boss and not a guaranteed mission reward. Equip available Item Drop Rate effects and select the Hunter Kodama blessing if available. Prepare a build that can defeat the boss consistently. At the Blacksmith, check the Forge menu to confirm the recipe is still missing. Find the target item’s entry and note its named boss and eligible source mission. Set Item Drop Rate on available equipment and choose Hunter Kodama blessing if unlocked. Select the lowest difficulty on which the text can drop and the boss remains manageable. Clear the route to the boss, defeat it, and check the rewards for the text. If absent, return from the mission or use its Shrine reset as appropriate, then make another attempt. After obtaining the text, return to the Forge and craft the item using its required materials and Gold. Farming tips Use Item Drop Rate for text hunting; Equipment Drop Rate serves a different goal. Short Shrine-to-boss routes are useful because they reduce time between attempts, but they do not guarantee a drop. Repeat, collect and use Repeat the boss encounter until the text appears. This is a chance-based farm; the recipe is a one-time unlock once collected.
Common mistakes Farming a nearby boss without verifying the target’s source: use the exact named encounter. Stacking Equipment Drop Rate instead of Item Drop Rate: prioritize the stat associated with text drops. Repeating a mission after the text unlocked: check the Forge and switch to collecting crafting materials. When to stop or switch Stop as soon as the recipe is unlocked; switch to gathering the Forge’s materials or to another missing text.
