WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Extreme planets during hazardous storms, at visible Storm Crystal formations.
This is a short, hazard-managed gathering run: locate an extreme world where crystals are present, wait for the hazardous weather that exposes them, collect only what you can safely carry, and return to shelter. Do not treat every extreme planet as a guaranteed crystal site. The planet and storm conditions determine whether the target is available, so confirm the crystal in the field before committing.
A ship capable of reaching and leaving the planet.
Hazard protection and Sodium or another suitable protection reserve.
Inventory capacity for the crystals.
A safe shelter or nearby return point for ending the exposed run.
Check the planet conditions and choose an extreme world where Storm Crystals are available.
Land near shelter or a return point rather than far from safety.
Wait for the hazardous storm conditions under which the crystals can be collected.
Scan and visually locate exposed Storm Crystals, confirming the target before leaving shelter.
Move to a crystal, collect it, and monitor hazard protection while exposed.
Continue only while protection and inventory allow a safe return.
Return to shelter or your ship and use or sell the collected crystals as appropriate.
Farming tips
Keep Sodium and protection charged before going out; the collection route is exposed by design.
Take a manageable load and prioritize a safe return over crossing a long storm path.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat on a suitable extreme world when crystals are available during storms. Each crystal is a one-time pickup, and availability depends on the planet and weather conditions.
Common mistakes
Assuming every extreme planet will provide crystals can waste a landing; verify their presence before planning a run.
Staying outside after protection is nearly depleted risks losing the haul; turn back early.
Treating crystal collection as safe in calm weather can fail because the target condition matters; collect when the storm exposes them.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the amount needed for your current sale or use, or sooner if hazard protection is low; switch to a safer resource route when the return margin is poor.
