Before you go
- Survey Device installed on the Multi-Tool.
- Electromagnetic Generator blueprint.
- Base Computer and base-building access near the hotspot.
- Electrical wiring and any needed batteries for the planned grid.
Farming steps
- Switch the Multi-Tool to Survey mode and select electromagnetic power detection.
- Follow the signal to the hotspot and identify its center marker.
- Check whether the marker lies within the base build area; extend the boundary if needed.
- Place Electromagnetic Generators near the hotspot center.
- Run electrical wiring from the generators to the base grid and the equipment that needs power.
- Add batteries if the layout needs stored power, then inspect powered equipment to confirm the connection.
- Use the powered grid for extractors or other base functions.
- Place generators near the hotspot marker because output falls as placement moves away from the center.
- Keep wiring visible and traceable while building; it makes disconnected sections easier to spot.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a persistent base power installation rather than a harvested stack. Once built and connected, it continues supplying the base grid; revisit if you expand or alter the network.
Common mistakes
- Placing generators far from the hotspot reduces output; move them closer to the center marker.
- A generator without a complete electrical connection cannot power distant equipment; connect it into the grid.
- Assuming a nearby hotspot is inside the base boundary can block placement; extend the build area where necessary.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the base grid powers the equipment you intend to run and its status is stable; expand generation only if additional equipment needs power.
