Deep-sea shoals reached by Sailing, using a ship’s net and a baited fishing setup.

Trawling combines Sailing travel with Fishing at deep-sea shoals. Find a suitable shoal, keep bait and cargo room available, then move when the shoal shifts. The activity produces fish while contributing Sailing progress; compare Fishing and Sailing experience separately when considering other training methods.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to Sailing and a boat fitted with the appropriate net and cargo space.
  • Bait for fishing.
  • A route and protection suitable for the waters and shoals you intend to reach.
  1. Prepare the boat with its net and clear enough cargo space for the catch.
  2. Bring bait and sail toward a shoal suitable for your equipment.
  3. Position beside the shoal and operate the net to begin catching fish.
  4. Track remaining bait and hold space as the catch accumulates.
  5. Use fish crates if you want to extend a trip while retaining fish.
  6. Reposition when the shoal shifts, then return to port to bank the catch.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat while a suitable shoal, bait and hold capacity are available. Catch size and session length vary.

Common mistakes

  • Arriving without bait or a net; check the boat and inventory first.
  • Remaining at a shoal after it shifts; move to its new position.
  • Filling the hold without a plan; use crates or return before capacity runs out.

When to stop or switch

End the trip when bait runs out, the hold is full or the shoal route is no longer worth the travel.
