WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Bristle Blossoms
Build a lit farm room that stays at 5–30 °C, with Oxygen, Polluted Oxygen, or Carbon Dioxide at 150 g–10 kg pressure. Place the crop in a compatible farming building and arrange water irrigation.
Before you go
- Bristle Blossom seed and a compatible Farm Tile or Hydroponic Farm.
- Water irrigation delivered to the crop.
- Light above 200 lux at the plant.
- Temperature and pressure within the stated ranges.
Farming steps
- Select a room where temperature can remain between 5 and 30 °C and pressure between 150 g and 10 kg.
- Build compatible planting stations, leaving duplicants access to complete planting and harvest errands.
- Plant Bristle Blossom seeds and connect irrigation, using Hydroponic Farms where available or the appropriate water delivery arrangement.
- Provide light above 200 lux at the plant’s location; check the light overlay rather than judging by room appearance.
- Inspect plant status after setup and fix any reported light, water, temperature, pressure, or gas problem.
- Harvest Bristle Berries when mature and move them to food storage or the colony’s food preparation route.
- Hydroponic Farms are research-gated, so use a compatible alternative until you have unlocked and built them.
- Lighting the room is only useful if the plant itself receives more than 200 lux; verify at crop level.
Repeat, collect and use
Harvest and replant as long as seeds, water, light, and suitable environmental conditions are maintained. Collect each berry harvest for food use and keep the irrigation line supplied between harvests.
Common mistakes
- Installing plants in a dim area; move or improve the light source until the plant receives over 200 lux.
- Connecting irrigation but overlooking temperature or pressure; the crop status panel reports other unmet needs.
- Treating a Hydroponic Farm as universally compatible; confirm the species can use the selected building.
When to stop or switch
Build more plants only when the water and lighting load fits your colony’s supply. Switch to a less demanding food crop if irrigation or light is limiting other essential systems.
