Where to farm
Ritual encounters and rewards in Atlas maps; spend Petition Splinters at the Realmgate.
Ritual encounters can provide Petition Splinters, the entry material for the King in the Mists through the Realmgate. Tribute is a separate resource for buying from Ritual’s Favour Shop. Track the Splinters you actually collect, then inspect the gate’s tier options and costs before committing them. This route involves repeated map encounters with variable rewards, followed by a prepared boss attempt. An altar’s Tribute total does not substitute for boss-entry Splinters.
Reach Atlas mapping and access maps containing Ritual.
Be able to complete altar fights and collect their rewards.
Keep Petition Splinters separate from Tribute in your planning.
Prepare for a pinnacle boss before spending the entry cost.
Open a map with Ritual or add encounters using an eligible Ritual Tablet.
Find an altar and clear monsters inside its area before activating it.
Complete the Ritual fight and collect Tribute and item rewards.
Check the encounter rewards for Petition Splinters and keep any that appear.
Repeat Ritual maps until your stack meets the displayed cost for a desired tier.
Open the Realmgate interface and inspect the King in the Mists options.
Enter at a tier your character is equipped and prepared to face.
Farming tips
Use Tribute for shop purchases; it does not replace Petition Splinters for boss access.
Check the current Realmgate cost rather than assuming a fixed amount.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Ritual mapping until you have the listed cost for a selected tier. Each boss attempt consumes its displayed cost; further attempts require more farming.
Common mistakes
Spending Splinters before checking the Realmgate cost; inspect your intended tier first.
Confusing Tribute with Petition Splinters; Tribute buys favours while Splinters open the boss encounter.
Entering before preparing for a demanding fight; hold the fragments until your character is ready.
When to stop or switch
Stop farming when you have the cost for your intended tier. If you are not ready, retain the Splinters and return after gearing or practicing.
