Tracking turns signs of wildlife into a focused hunting outing that can supply meat and animal materials.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A rural field margin or forest edge beyond town blocks, using the current Hunting and Tracking interface when it detects signs.
Build 42 hunting and tracking uses an interface for clues and animal signs. Work along a rural field margin or woodland edge, follow the displayed direction carefully, and keep a route back to safety. A sighting is not a guaranteed kill; carry suitable tools and be ready to leave without a carcass if the approach becomes dangerous. Process recovered meat promptly for food use.
Access to Build 42 Hunting and Tracking mechanics.
A suitable weapon and cutting tool for the planned hunt.
A safe exit route and enough carry capacity for recovered food.
Travel to a rural margin or woodland boundary with a clear return route away from town.
Use the Hunting and Tracking interface to look for animal signs rather than pursuing random sounds.
Read the clues the game presents and follow their indicated direction at a controlled pace.
Recheck the interface as you progress so you do not drift into town or lose the track.
When an animal is exposed, assess the terrain and make a controlled attempt with a suitable weapon.
If successful, butcher the carcass with your cutting tool and collect only what you can carry safely.
Return along the planned route and cook or preserve the meat promptly.
Farming tips
Use current skill descriptions and interface cues; older Build 41 hunting assumptions may not fit Build 42.
Keep the hunt away from your base when possible so weapon noise does not draw danger into your food area.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat as a wildlife outing when signs and conditions allow; tracks and successful kills are not guaranteed each trip.
Common mistakes
Chasing sounds without using tracking clues; return to the Hunting and Tracking interface and follow displayed evidence.
Firing from a poor position or near home; choose a controlled attempt in a rural area and retain an exit route.
Taking more carcass weight than you can safely return with; collect a manageable amount and process it promptly.
When to stop or switch
End the hunt when the trail approaches town, you lose a safe route, or your weapon and carrying capacity are inadequate; switch to trapping or fishing.
