Where to farm
Trading Posts on large islands; use the bait and fish exchange at the post.
Trading Post reputation grows through selling the rare fish caught with its bait. The progression is tiered: buy bait from the currently available level, catch its fish and complete the exchange. Visiting a post or selling unrelated goods does not replace that loop.
Find a Trading Post on a large island and check its available bait tier.
Buy bait from the current tier using Trash Cubes.
Fish with that bait until you catch the rare fish associated with the bait.
Return to the post and sell the correct fish through its exchange.
Collect the reputation from completed fish sales and review whether the next tier is unlocked.
Buy bait from the newly available tier when the reputation gate opens.
Continue selling each tier’s corresponding fish to build reputation and unlock further stock.
Farming tips
Keep track of which bait produced each catch so you can complete the right exchange.
Treat each tier as a progression step; check the post after sales to see what has opened.
Repeat, collect and use
This is a repeatable tier progression loop: purchase available bait, fish, sell matching rare fish and repeat. Higher tiers unlock through reputation rather than being available immediately.
Common mistakes
Assuming simply visiting the post grants reputation: reputation comes from selling the bait-caught rare fish.
Fishing without Trading Post bait for this progression: the exchange relies on the bait-linked rare fish.
Expecting later bait before its gate: continue the current-tier sales first.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the desired Trading Post tier is unlocked or when you have enough reputation for the stock you want; resume the current tier later if another unlock is needed.
