WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Sand

Underwater reef wall around islands, beside the island foundation.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Anchor beside an island and pick a clear reef starting point.
  2. Dive with the Hook equipped and keep close to the underwater wall around the foundation.
  3. Look for Sand deposits and harvest them with the Hook.
  4. Collect the Sand and check nearby reef nodes for Clay, Scrap, Copper or Metal Ore.
  5. Follow the reef in one direction so you can tell which sections you have already searched.
  6. Surface before oxygen becomes low, then recover on the raft before another pass.
  7. Store Sand for the recipes that use it and make another island stop when your reserve runs short.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the reef collection on later island visits. Sand is collected from underwater deposits with a Hook; each trip can also yield other reef materials.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting Sand from floating debris: the recorded source is the underwater island reef.
  • Swimming away from the island wall: keep the reef in view to find deposits.
  • Staying down for every node in one go: surface and recover instead of risking oxygen loss.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the current crafting reserve is met or when oxygen, health or supplies call for returning to the raft.
