Underwater island reefs contain Sand deposits that you can harvest with a Hook. Anchor near shore and make a deliberate circuit along the reef wall. Because Clay, metals and Scrap share the area, a single safe dive can build a mixed materials reserve without confusing the separate deposits.
Repeat the reef collection on later island visits. Sand is collected from underwater deposits with a Hook; each trip can also yield other reef materials.
Stop when the current crafting reserve is met or when oxygen, health or supplies call for returning to the raft.
