Red and crystal-flecked sandstone for potion flasks
Mine sandstone at its named locations, process it into glass, and blow it into robust or crystal flasks for Herblore.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Red sandstone: outside Oo’glog, or Sophanem after elite Desert achievements. Crystal-flecked sandstone: Ithell district in Prifddinas; optional second rock in Edimmu resource dungeon.
This repeatable Mining-to-Crafting supply route produces two specific Herblore containers. Red sandstone comes from the Oo’glog deposit, with a second Sophanem source gated by the elite Desert achievements; process it at a robust glass machine into robust glass, then blow it into potion flasks. Crystal-flecked sandstone comes from the Ithell mine in Prifddinas and can be processed there into crystal glass and crystal flasks. Both deposits require 81 Mining, while blowing glass into flasks requires 89 Crafting. Plague’s End is required for the Ithell crystal-flecked route. A 115 Dungeoneering Edimmu resource-dungeon option provides another crystal-flecked deposit if unlocked. The current Mining wiki notes the old daily sandstone cap was removed, so this is no longer a fixed small daily allotment; keep mining only while the flask stock is useful. Check the live Mining update and your inventory before gathering, and do not assume old guides’ daily quantities still apply.
89 Crafting to blow robust or crystal glass into flasks.
Plague’s End and access to Prifddinas for crystal-flecked sandstone at Ithell.
Elite Desert achievement access for the alternate Sophanem red sandstone deposit; 115 Dungeoneering for the optional Edimmu resource dungeon deposit.
Glassblowing pipe and access to the robust glass machine near the relevant deposit.
Choose the product target first: red sandstone leads to robust glass and potion flasks; crystal-flecked sandstone leads to crystal glass and crystal flasks.
For robust/potion flasks, mine red sandstone at Oo’glog; use Sophanem only if the elite Desert achievement unlocks that deposit.
For crystal flasks, complete Plague’s End, travel to Prifddinas, and mine crystal-flecked sandstone in the Ithell district; use the Edimmu resource-dungeon rock only if you have 115 Dungeoneering access.
Carry the sandstone to its nearby robust glass machine and process it into the corresponding glass.
Use a glassblowing pipe with 89 Crafting to blow robust glass into potion flasks or crystal glass into crystal flasks.
Bank the finished flasks and compare stock with the Herblore recipes you are preparing.
Return to the chosen mine and repeat while the resulting flask type remains useful; the current wiki says the former daily cap has been removed.
Farming tips
Do not use obsolete 28/50/75 per-day guides as a hard current cap; the daily-cap removal is documented in the current Mining update pages.
The alternate locations have meaningful unlocks: elite Desert achievements for Sophanem and 115 Dungeoneering for the extra Ithell-related resource dungeon rock.
Repeat, collect and use
Mine and process more sandstone as needed; the former daily mining cap was removed, so stop by inventory/recipe demand rather than a reset timer.
Common mistakes
Trying to mine without 81 Mining or blow flasks below 89 Crafting.
Traveling to Ithell before completing Plague’s End.
Assuming Sophanem or the Edimmu resource dungeon is available without its separate unlock.
Following old advice that sandstone is limited to a daily quota.
Processing sandstone into glass before checking if the planned target needs raw sandstone.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the flask stock for the intended Herblore recipes is complete or the remaining sandstone is no longer worth processing.
