WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Red and crystal-flecked sandstone for potion flasks

Red sandstone: outside Oo’glog, or Sophanem after elite Desert achievements. Crystal-flecked sandstone: Ithell district in Prifddinas; optional second rock in Edimmu resource dungeon.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Choose the product target first: red sandstone leads to robust glass and potion flasks; crystal-flecked sandstone leads to crystal glass and crystal flasks.
  2. For robust/potion flasks, mine red sandstone at Oo’glog; use Sophanem only if the elite Desert achievement unlocks that deposit.
  3. For crystal flasks, complete Plague’s End, travel to Prifddinas, and mine crystal-flecked sandstone in the Ithell district; use the Edimmu resource-dungeon rock only if you have 115 Dungeoneering access.
  4. Carry the sandstone to its nearby robust glass machine and process it into the corresponding glass.
  5. Use a glassblowing pipe with 89 Crafting to blow robust glass into potion flasks or crystal glass into crystal flasks.
  6. Bank the finished flasks and compare stock with the Herblore recipes you are preparing.
  7. Return to the chosen mine and repeat while the resulting flask type remains useful; the current wiki says the former daily cap has been removed.

Repeat, collect and use

Mine and process more sandstone as needed; the former daily mining cap was removed, so stop by inventory/recipe demand rather than a reset timer.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to mine without 81 Mining or blow flasks below 89 Crafting.
  • Traveling to Ithell before completing Plague’s End.
  • Assuming Sophanem or the Edimmu resource dungeon is available without its separate unlock.
  • Following old advice that sandstone is limited to a daily quota.
  • Processing sandstone into glass before checking if the planned target needs raw sandstone.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the flask stock for the intended Herblore recipes is complete or the remaining sandstone is no longer worth processing.
