Before you go
- Radiation protection suitable for the monument's hazards.
- A weapon and healing supplies for threats on the approach.
- Inventory space for loot and Recycler output.
- An exit plan and readiness to leave if contested.
Farming steps
- Check the current map for Train Yard and approach with protection equipped.
- Scan entrances and sightlines for players before entering.
- Search accessible buildings, sheds, freight cars, and yard areas for available crates and barrels.
- Deal with threats before looting exposed areas; leave if the approach is compromised.
- Sort components and choose surplus items for the site's Recycler.
- Process a manageable batch and collect the output.
- Leave with useful loot and materials by a route that is safe at that moment.
- Possible loot spawn points do not mean a crate or barrel will be present on a given visit.
- The standard Recycler returns 60% of recyclable material value; select items with that recovery in mind.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat when Train Yard is available and the loot and recycler risk justify a trip. Contents and occupancy vary, so the haul is not fixed.
Common mistakes
- Treating every possible spawn as guaranteed loot: sweep efficiently and reassess if the yard is empty.
- Entering without suitable radiation protection: prepare before approaching.
- Recycling items needed for a craft: sort and reserve them first.
When to stop or switch
Leave after a worthwhile haul and processing, or immediately when another player controls your route.
