Geothermal Generators turn discovered geysers into local grid power. Their availability depends on progression, and output can fluctuate, so plan them as a source whose behavior you monitor in the power network.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Geysers become findable through the Resource Scanner after the appropriate research unlocks. Scan for a geyser and inspect the site’s access and grid connection options.
Unlock the relevant Caterium research path, find a geyser, and place a Geothermal Generator on it. Connect the generator to a grid and retain enough resilience for periods when its output does not match demand.
Filter a resource, then select a marker or location below for its purity, elevation and coordinates. The map is hosted here.

How to farm
Before you go
Caterium research progression that unlocks geyser scanning and geothermal equipment.
A discovered geyser.
Geothermal Generator and power connection to the intended grid.
Progress through the relevant Caterium research and check that geothermal equipment and geyser scanning are available.
Hold V, select Geyser if present, and follow the compass to a location.
Inspect the geyser and clear access for the generator and power line.
Place the Geothermal Generator directly on the geyser node.
Connect it to the grid that will use its output.
Review the grid’s production and consumption at a power pole as the generator operates.
Keep other power sources or storage available if the grid cannot tolerate the geyser’s fluctuating output.
Farming tips
Use a geyser to support a nearby outpost when the grid connection is practical.
Watch the grid rather than assuming geothermal output is a fixed amount at all times.
Repeat, collect and use
Finding and installing a generator at a specific geyser is a one-time site setup. Its power contribution continues while connected, but the output fluctuates; monitor the grid and maintain other sources as needed.
Common mistakes
Searching before the relevant research unlocks can leave the target unavailable; verify the scan option first.
Treating the generator as a constant-output replacement can destabilize a grid; keep suitable backup capacity.
Placing it without a usable grid connection leaves its power isolated; connect it to the intended network.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding geothermal sites when the grid can absorb their variable output and remains supplied through lower-output periods. Add another source only if monitoring shows a real power gap.
