Nuclear power creates a continuing waste stream that must have a real downstream plan. Handling it before scaling the reactor line prevents a storage-only design from quietly reaching its limit.

Treat Uranium Waste as a production input requiring a dedicated route and later processing plan. The chain can continue through Plutonium Waste and Plutonium Fuel Rods, but it needs the appropriate progression and facilities.

How to farm
At the uranium processing and Nuclear Power Plant site, reserve space for separated waste logistics and downstream production. Keep the plan tied to the recipes and technology available in the current save.
Before you go
Nuclear Power and the uranium processing chain.
A dedicated conveyor and storage or processing route for Uranium Waste.
Later downstream facilities and progression for the Plutonium chain if pursuing further conversion.
Before expanding nuclear generation, identify where Uranium Waste will leave each plant and travel.
Build a dedicated belt route so waste cannot be confused with usable fuel or other materials.
Use storage only as a buffer while arranging the intended downstream processing capacity.
Progress toward the nuclear waste conversion chain and check its current recipe and building requirements in game.
Route Plutonium Waste into the later chain that produces Plutonium Fuel Rods when those stages are available.
Choose whether the resulting rods will be used or sunk, and connect the output to that destination.
Monitor waste buffers and downstream machines as the plant runs; add capacity before storage fills.
Farming tips
Reserve physical space for waste belts and processing when laying out the reactor area.
Keep waste routes labeled and separated so a blocked downstream step is easy to find.
Repeat, collect and use
Nuclear waste is an ongoing output for operating plants, so the handling and processing loop repeats continuously. The full conversion chain is a progression-dependent factory, not a one-time cleanup; keep its outputs moving to use or disposal.
Common mistakes
Relying on belt storage alone only delays a full buffer; provide an ongoing downstream plan.
Starting reactors before the waste route is ready risks accumulating material with nowhere to go; build the route first.
Assuming all conversion stages are immediately available can leave the chain incomplete; verify unlocks and recipes as progression advances.
When to stop or switch
Do not scale the nuclear line while waste buffers are rising without an operating destination. Resume expansion when downstream processing or removal handles the current output reliably.
