Power Trip Recovery and Grid Restart

When a grid’s demand exceeds production and available stored energy, it trips and connected machines stop. A deliberate recovery loop helps identify the shortfall and bring the factory back without immediately repeating the same failure.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Start at a power pole on the tripped grid. Inspect the production and consumption readouts there, then check generators and storage connected to that same network.

Treat a trip as a grid diagnosis: isolate what changed, restore enough supply for the active load, then reconnect production in stages. Power Storage can cover a temporary gap if it has charge, but it cannot sustain a grid whose demand remains above its supply.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A tripped or unstable power grid with accessible power poles and generators.
  • Power Storage on the grid if you want to use stored energy during recovery; it is unlocked at Tier 4 Expanded Power Infrastructure.
  • A way to disconnect nonessential factory loads while restoring supply.
  1. Find a power pole on the affected network and inspect production, consumption, capacity, and maximum consumption.
  2. Check connected Power Storage charge and estimated remaining time, if storage is installed.
  3. Identify the largest recent load or the production source that stopped; verify generator inputs and connections before restarting everything.
  4. Disconnect nonessential production machines so the remaining grid has a smaller startup load.
  5. Restore the fuel or other input and power connection to the generators needed for recovery.
  6. Reconnect factory sections gradually, watching the grid readout after each section comes online.
  7. If storage keeps discharging or the grid trips again, leave optional loads disconnected and increase generation or repair the missing input.

Farming tips

  • Label switches or poles by factory section so you can shed and restore loads in a predictable order.
  • Use storage charge as a temporary reserve indicator; a falling reserve during normal operation points to an ongoing imbalance.

Repeat, collect and use

This recovery procedure can be repeated after each trip. The trip itself is not a resource farm: the recurring work is isolating loads, restoring supply, and bringing sections back online. Any connected Power Storage recharges only when the grid has surplus.

Common mistakes

  • Restarting every machine at once can recreate the original demand spike; reconnect production in stages.
  • Assuming storage will fix a permanent deficit only postpones another trip; correct the generation and consumption balance.
  • Checking a pole on a different network gives irrelevant readings; verify that the pole, generators, loads, and storage share the affected grid.

When to stop or switch

Finish recovery when the intended factory loads run without another trip and storage, if present, is no longer steadily discharging. If the grid remains unstable, keep optional sections off and diagnose the supply or demand change before resuming.
