WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Crude Oil

Scan for Crude Oil nodes and inspect accessible sites. Resource Wells are a separate later extraction option; compare the available oil source with the intended refinery location and fluid route.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Use the Resource Scanner to locate an oil node or, when available, a Resource Well.
  2. For an oil node, place an Oil Extractor directly on the deposit and connect its fluid output to a pipeline.
  3. For a well, place and power the Pressurizer on the central node before placing Extractors on satellite nodes.
  4. Route crude to Refineries and select the intended product chain, such as Fuel, Plastic, or Rubber.
  5. Provide a destination for every product and byproduct so full buffers do not block refinery operation.
  6. Power the extraction and refinery equipment, then inspect pipes and downstream storage while the line starts.
  7. Expand extraction only after the existing refineries and transport can use the additional fluid.

Repeat, collect and use

Oil extraction is an ongoing automated loop while powered and connected to usable downstream processing. Continue collecting products through belts, pipes, or storage; clear full outputs and byproducts to keep the process moving.

Common mistakes

  • Placing a Resource Well Extractor before activating the center Pressurizer will not establish a working well; power the Pressurizer first.
  • Ignoring refinery byproducts or full product storage can halt processing; plan destinations before scaling.
  • Treating an oil node like a well skips the correct extractor; use the building appropriate to the site.

When to stop or switch

Stop adding extraction when your refinery lines can consume the fluid and all outputs have reliable destinations. Expand after identifying which product or transport route is limiting the factory.
