Windstad Manor’s fish hatchery is a homestead production feature, not an outdoor fishing route. Release aquatic species supported by the hatchery, let the system produce more, then collect the fish or related ingredients you need. Use the hatchery to support recipes and food supplies, and refill it when the target stock runs low.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Own Hearthfire.
  • Build Windstad Manor and its Fish Hatchery feature.
  • Have fish or eggs that the hatchery accepts for stocking.
  1. Build Windstad Manor and construct the Fish Hatchery as part of its outdoor homestead features.
  2. Bring fish or eggs for a species supported by the hatchery.
  3. Interact with the hatchery and release the chosen species into the water.
  4. Leave the manor and pursue other activities while the hatchery produces additional stock.
  5. Return to the hatchery and collect the available fish or aquatic ingredients.
  6. Use the harvest in a recipe, cooking, or alchemy as appropriate to the item.
  7. Restock the hatchery when the target supply is depleted and you want another production cycle.

Farming tips

  • Choose a species for a recipe you actually use; aquatic ingredients have different applications.
  • Keep this loop tied to Windstad visits rather than treating it as a substitute for every ingredient source.

Repeat, collect and use
