WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Smithing skill levels grant access to perk points that can be invested in the Smithing constellation. Different branches support different equipment materials. Decide what gear you want to forge or improve, then follow the relevant branch as your skill and available perk points allow.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Earn Smithing skill levels and available perk points.
  • Identify the equipment material you plan to use.
  • Collect or plan to collect the matching crafting materials.
  1. Open the character skills menu and enter the Smithing constellation.
  2. Read the available perks and note their skill prerequisites and material focus.
  3. Choose the branch that matches equipment you expect to craft or improve.
  4. Spend a perk point only when the chosen perk is available and supports your plan.
  5. Gather the relevant ingots, leather or other listed materials for the target recipe.
  6. Visit a forge and confirm that the item or improvement is now accessible before spending more points.

Farming tips

  • Perk points are limited until you level further, so plan around the armor or weapon material you actually use.
  • Skill books, training and practical smithing activities all contribute to Smithing progression.

Repeat, collect and use

This is a progression choice made when perk points become available, not a farm that produces repeatable items. Revisit the constellation after earning another point.

Common mistakes

  • Do not spend points in a branch for equipment you do not plan to use.
  • Do not assume a perk removes material costs; recipes still need their listed ingredients.
  • Do not overlook prerequisite skill levels shown in the constellation.

When to stop or switch

Stop investing once your desired material branch supports the gear you use; save later points for another branch only if you plan to change equipment.
