Food and Plort Safety

Reliable feeding and plort separation reduce ranch disruption and protect crafting supplies.

PC / Global, full release 1.0 (Sep 23, 2025)
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Conservatory Corrals, Gardens, Coops, Plort Collectors, and Refinery.

A safe Conservatory setup pairs every Corral with a sustainable food source and keeps plorts from becoming an accidental second food. Feed the right diet, collect plorts promptly, and preserve recipe inputs in the Refinery. When Tarr appear, respond to the immediate threat rather than continuing normal feeding: use water to clear the danger and restore separation before the next cycle.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Corrals with containment appropriate to the slime groups inside.
  • Food plots or Coops that support those groups’ diets.
  • A routine for collecting plorts and routing crafting reserves.
  1. Check each slime group’s diet and favorite food in the Slimepedia.
  2. Maintain the matching Garden or Coop near the Corral it supplies.
  3. Feed only food the slimes can eat and avoid introducing unrelated plorts into their reach.
  4. Collect plorts from the Collector and place recipe needs in the Refinery.
  5. Sell only the remaining surplus through the Plort Market.
  6. If Tarr appear, use water to clear the threat before resuming ordinary ranch work.
  7. Recheck food and plort separation before feeding the pens again.

Farming tips

  • Favorite food improves output, but the benefit depends on keeping enough of that food available.
  • Keep target recipe plorts separate from market stock so a safety cleanup does not derail crafting plans.

Repeat, collect and use

This is an ongoing ranch routine: maintain food, collect plorts, and review separation each cycle. Clearing a Tarr incident is a response to an event, not a farm reward.

Common mistakes

  • Letting food run out while increasing slime count; scale the Corral to its food supply.
  • Allowing mixed plorts to reach slimes; collect output and prevent unintended Largo transformations that can lead to Tarr.
  • Continuing to feed during a Tarr threat; clear the immediate danger with water, then resume.

When to stop or switch

Pause expansion whenever food supply or plort handling becomes unreliable; return to adding slimes only after both are stable.
