Where to farm
Fabricator downstairs beside the Plort Market board in the Conservatory; resource nodes are found across Rainbow Island.
The Resource Harvester lets your Vacpack collect science materials from environmental nodes. It is crafted at the Conservatory Fabricator, downstairs beside the Plort Market board. Because the displayed recipe is the authority for your save, check it before planning a run. Build up plorts and Newbucks through ranching first, then gather any recipe inputs you can currently reach. If a required input comes only from a science node and you do not yet have a way to collect it, the Harvester cannot be completed through that route; pause and pursue other available progression until the required input becomes obtainable.

Go downstairs from the Plort Market board to the Fabricator.
Select Resource Harvester and inspect every displayed requirement.
Feed ranch slimes and collect their plorts; use favorite food when available to improve production.
Check the Refinery recipe requirements and separate inputs you already have from missing ones.
Collect only missing materials that your current equipment and access can actually obtain.
If a required input is available only from a science node, stop this crafting attempt until you have a way to collect that input; do not plan a pre-Harvester node run.
Deposit obtainable recipe inputs and plorts into the Refinery.
When all requirements are satisfied, craft the upgrade and install it in the Vacpack before setting out for nodes.
Farming tips
Keep the in-game recipe open as your checklist; this guide does not assume a fixed recipe or cost.
Maintain ranch production while waiting on an inaccessible input, and revisit the Fabricator after other progression opens a way to obtain it.
Repeat, collect and use
Crafting the Harvester is a one-time unlock per save. Collecting resources with it is repeatable; ranching for recipe plorts is also repeatable.
Common mistakes
Assuming a science-node input can be gathered before you have a way to harvest nodes; pause instead of repeating an impossible trip.
Leaving required plorts or materials outside the Refinery; deposit recipe inputs there for Fabricator crafting.
Traveling to resource nodes before installing the upgrade; equip the Harvester first.
When to stop or switch
Stop unlock preparation once the Harvester is crafted and installed. If a required input remains inaccessible, switch to ranching and other available progression, then return when you can obtain it.
