WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Beach or Ruins for Green Beetles; Oak Forest for Sawyer Beetles; home Furnace for Heavy Chitin processing.
Regular Chitin is a creature drop; Heavy Chitin is a separate processed item. Green Beetles in the Beach or Ruins and Sawyer Beetles in the Oak Forest are identified sources of Chitin. The Furnace converts Chitin with Clay Mortar into Heavy Chitin, once its progression gate is met.
Clay Mortar and Chitin for the Heavy Chitin recipe.
Inventory space for raw and processed materials.
Check the recipe to see whether you need regular Chitin or Heavy Chitin.
Choose the nearby beetle route: Sawyer Beetles in the Oak Forest, or Green Beetles in Beach/Ruins.
Defeat the selected beetles and loot their drops, confirming Chitin in the inventory.
Return to base once the needed raw material is collected or your carrying space is low.
If making Heavy Chitin, verify that the Windmill progression has unlocked the Furnace.
At the Furnace, combine Chitin and Clay Mortar using the Heavy Chitin recipe.
Collect and store Heavy Chitin separately from raw Chitin so you can supply the correct item to later crafts.
Farming tips
Use the Oak Forest Sawyer Beetle route when it suits your current travel; Beach/Ruins are another listed source.
Do not process all Chitin automatically: some recipes may consume the regular form.
Repeat, collect and use
Hunt the listed beetles again whenever raw Chitin is needed. Furnace processing can be repeated with available Chitin and Clay Mortar; no fixed drop yield is assumed.
Common mistakes
Taking Chitin to a recipe that wants Heavy Chitin: process it at the Furnace first.
Attempting Heavy Chitin production without Clay Mortar or Furnace access: gather the input and unlock the station.
Hunting an unrelated beetle species: use the named Green or Sawyer Beetle sources.
When to stop or switch
Stop hunting when you have enough raw Chitin for the target batch and any planned reserve; stop processing when the Heavy Chitin recipe requirement is met.
