WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Skadi’s early taming progression and home crafting stations: Campfire, Workbench, Cauldron or Stone Oven as unlocked.
Taming supplies are recipe gated and vary by tier. Start with the Simple Bait route unlocked through Skadi, then craft a Basic Taming Trap at a Workbench. More advanced bait and trap recipes come through NPC progression; confirm the target creature’s requirements before making a batch.
Skadi’s Simple Bait knowledge for the early recipe.
Ingredients shown by the bait and trap recipes you have unlocked.
Workbench for a Basic Taming Trap.
NPC progression and the specified station for later bait tiers.
Speak with Skadi and unlock Simple Bait before planning the first bait batch.
Open the recipe and gather its displayed ingredients; recipe inputs can differ by bait tier.
Craft Simple Bait at a Campfire.
At a Workbench, make a Basic Taming Trap and confirm the target creature can use that tier.
For a later target, progress NPC knowledge and inspect the newly available bait and trap recipes.
Craft Tasty Bait at a Cauldron or Delicious Bait at a Stone Oven when those recipes are unlocked and appropriate.
Carry the bait and matching trap to the target habitat, then place and use them according to the in-game taming interaction.
Farming tips
Treat bait and trap as a matched pair; upgrading one does not establish that it works for every creature.
Make only the amount needed for the planned attempt until you understand the target’s recipe and taming requirements.
Repeat, collect and use
Bait and traps can be crafted again when ingredients and recipes are available. Unlocks are progression based, so higher tiers are not an unlimited early-game farm.
Common mistakes
Crafting before speaking to Skadi: unlock the early bait recipe first.
Using the wrong station: use the station specified by each unlocked recipe.
Assuming one bait fits every creature: check the target’s matching bait and trap tier.
When to stop or switch
Stop crafting once you have bait and a compatible trap for the planned target; return to recipe progression if the required tier is still locked.
