Before you go
- Harvesting tool suitable for the target plants.
- Inventory room for Seeds and incidental plant drops.
- Cutter Grinder/Stonecutter for Seed Oil or Windmill for Flour, if processing at home.
Farming steps
- Decide whether your immediate need is raw Seeds, Seed Oil or Flour.
- Travel to patches of Cattail, Cyclamen, Foxtail, Poppy or Rye.
- Harvest each named plant and collect the Seed drops; do not assume every plant yields the same quantity.
- Check the inventory periodically and stop if you have reached your planned raw reserve.
- Return home and separate Seeds from other plant materials.
- Use the Cutter Grinder/Stonecutter to make Seed Oil, or use the Windmill for Flour, when those are the intended outputs.
- Store any remaining Seeds for future recipes rather than consuming the entire haul.
- The listed plants provide Seeds, but yields vary; base a trip on need rather than a promised count.
- Reserve raw Seeds before making oil or Flour so you retain options for other uses.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat wild-plant harvesting when your Seed stock runs low. This article does not claim that planted seeds regrow into a guaranteed harvest.
Common mistakes
- Harvesting only one species by assumption: several named plants are valid sources.
- Processing the full stack immediately: retain a raw reserve.
- Expecting a uniform amount per plant: inspect the pickup and gather until your actual need is met.
When to stop or switch
Stop once your raw Seed reserve and any planned processing batch are covered; switch to the relevant station when more field gathering is no longer needed.
