WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Farmland within reach of a staffed Granary at your base.
Potatoes are a useful crop for a Granary-managed field because the harvested Potato can be replanted as the crop, reducing the need to craft or preserve a separate seed for every cycle. Place Farmland within a staffed Granary’s range, select Potato, and keep the displayed water and fertilizer needs supplied. Collect the harvest from Granary storage and reserve enough potatoes to replant before using the surplus for food or recipes. This gives the plot a renewable planting loop while still requiring ongoing care and storage capacity.

Water and fertilizer matching the potato plot’s displayed requirements.
Storage space for the harvest and any planting stock you are retaining.
Place a Farmland plot within range of a Granary and assign a tribesman to manage it.
Select Potato as the crop in the plot interface.
Check the plot’s displayed requirements and supply the indicated water and fertilizer.
Allow the crop to grow, then check the Granary for harvested Potato.
Separate enough Potato from the harvest to replant the field before cooking or consuming the rest.
Use the surplus for food or recipes that call for Potato.
Restore any missing water, fertilizer, labor or storage before the next cycle.
Farming tips
Potato can be replanted as the crop, so reserve some harvest for the next planting.
Use the plot display to match supplies to this crop instead of applying a generic fertilizer rule.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat while planting stock, water, suitable fertilizer, worker time, and storage are available. Replanting depends on retaining or reacquiring planting stock; harvest-based replenishment is not assumed.
Common mistakes
Assuming potatoes cannot replace planting stock: reserve harvest for the next planting.
Using the entire harvest as food: set aside a replanting portion first.
Ignoring the Granary’s worker or supply needs: inspect the farm assignment and plot status.
When to stop or switch
Pause the potato plot when food reserves are sufficient or the required inputs and worker time are needed elsewhere.
