Compost supplies a crop fertilizer input and can be produced at a Fertilizer Bucket from plant materials. A steady compost reserve helps keep Farmland supplied through repeat planting cycles.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At your base, beside the Fertilizer Bucket and the Granary or storage that supplies your Farmland.
Use this loop when your crop plots require Compost and you want to make it at base. The Fertilizer Bucket turns Tree Bark plus one of Fiber, Thatch, or Vine into Compost. This is a separate fertilizer output from Ash, Bone Powder, Stone Powder, and Compound Fertilizer. Crop requirements vary, so check the selected crop’s needs before making a large batch. After processing, move Compost to the Granary or the storage used to supply your fields, and keep enough planting stock for the next cycle.
A Fertilizer Bucket and access to its Compost recipe.
Tree Bark and one of Fiber, Thatch, or Vine.
Farmland with crops that require Compost.
Inventory or storage space for ingredients and finished fertilizer.
Check the crop assigned to each plot and confirm that it requires Compost; crops can have different fertilizer needs.
Gather Tree Bark and choose Fiber, Thatch, or Vine as the companion ingredient.
Bring both ingredients to the Fertilizer Bucket at base.
Select the Compost recipe and load its ingredients according to the bucket’s displayed requirements.
Let the bucket process the available batch, then collect the finished Compost.
Place Compost in the Granary’s supply inventory or the storage your farm workers draw from.
Check the plots and replenish their fertilizer supply when it runs low.
Keep a reserve of the chosen plant ingredient so you can make another batch without interrupting crop care.
Farming tips
Use whichever supported companion material you already have in surplus; the recipe accepts Fiber, Thatch, or Vine.
Keep fertilizer near the farm supply point and leave room for harvested crops so storage capacity does not stall collection.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the ingredient-gathering and bucket-processing loop as Compost is used by your fields. Compost production is renewable while you can collect Tree Bark and at least one accepted plant material.
Common mistakes
Assuming every crop uses Compost; inspect its requirements and supply the matching fertilizer.
Loading Tree Bark without an accepted companion ingredient; add Fiber, Thatch, or Vine as well.
Making fertilizer without leaving storage capacity for it; collect the batch and clear space before the next processing cycle.
When to stop or switch
Stop producing Compost when your active plots have an adequate supply and you have a reserve for the next planting cycle; switch to the crop’s listed fertilizer if its requirement differs.
