WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Farm Plot grid with a Collector positioned over the plots and connected to storage by conveyors.
Position a Collector above Farm Plots with clear vertical space, connect its output to conveyor storage, then collect the crop output when harvesting. Planting remains a manual task, so the loop still needs a player to start each crop cycle.
Vertical clearance above plots and working grid power where required.
Lay out the Farm Plots with enough open space above them for the Collector path.
Place the Collector so harvested items can enter it without the block or nearby structure obstructing the route.
Connect the Collector inventory to cargo storage with conveyors and verify the path is usable.
Plant the crops manually in the Farm Plot and confirm water, power, temperature, and health conditions.
Allow the crop to grow, checking plot state rather than assuming collection equipment handles plant care.
Harvest when ready and let the Collector move the output into connected storage.
Open the storage inventory, collect the produce, and manually replant for the next cycle.
Farming tips
Leave clearance above every plot used by the Collector route; blocked access can prevent reliable collection.
Keep the storage destination easy to inspect so you can confirm that harvested items arrived.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat planting manually, waiting for a valid harvest state, collecting via the Collector, and replanting. The Collector assists with harvest collection but does not plant crops.
Common mistakes
Building the Collector flush against the plots: preserve the needed overhead collection path.
Forgetting the conveyor connection: link the Collector to storage and verify output location.
Expecting automatic planting: return to the plots and plant each new cycle yourself.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting when storage is full or the current crop is harvested; clear space and manually replant when ready for another cycle.
