An ice-fed Irrigation System supplies Farm Plots with water, creating a repeatable resource loop for crop production.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A powered base or ship grid with Farm Plot and Irrigation System blocks. Crop survival also depends on temperature and plot condition.
In the Apex Survival content, build a powered Farm Plot and Irrigation System, provide ice, and confirm that water reaches the plot. Plan the ice supply so another connected block does not consume the entire reserve before irrigation can use it.
Farm Plot and Irrigation System blocks in the Apex Survival setup.
Ice supply and powered grid.
A moderate-temperature location or suitable pressurized farm area.
Choose a place for the farm where the grid can maintain moderate temperatures; avoid known extreme heat or cold exposure.
Build the Farm Plot and connect the Irrigation System according to the grid’s conveyor arrangement.
Provide ice to the Irrigation System and check the plot’s water status before planting.
Keep the farm powered and inspect plot health, water, and environmental conditions as the crop grows.
If an O2/H2 Generator shares the ice supply, manage inventories or conveyor routing so it cannot consume all available ice.
Harvest the crop when ready and collect the produce from the plot or connected collection setup.
Replenish ice and water before starting the next planting cycle.
Farming tips
Leave a reserve of ice for irrigation instead of assuming competing blocks will share it evenly.
Check crop health and water before leaving the base unattended; correct a failed condition early.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the ice supply, irrigation check, planting, and harvest cycle. Farm output depends on crop health and plot conditions, so monitor the plot each cycle.
Common mistakes
Planting before water reaches the plot: confirm water availability first.
Ignoring temperature or block damage: move or protect the farm and check plot health.
Allowing another consumer to drain the ice: reserve or route ice for irrigation.
When to stop or switch
Pause planting when water, ice, power, or suitable temperature is unavailable; resume once the plot reports workable conditions.
