Planetary Exploration

A planned planet visit combines resource gathering, discovery, and safe returns into a repeatable exploration loop.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Surface and underground of planets selected at the ship’s navigation console.

Choose destinations by threat, biome, and hazard rather than expecting a fixed route across procedurally generated terrain. A useful expedition has a target—ore, seeds, a scan, or a landmark—and a safe way to return. New worlds can also offer caves, containers, and generated structures, but their placement varies.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A ship and enough fuel for the intended travel.
  • Armor and weapons suitable for the displayed threat level.
  • An EPP matched to the planet’s environmental hazard, when one is present.
  • Inventory space, healing items, and blocks or tools for navigating terrain.
  1. Set one or two goals before departure, such as finding a particular ore, collecting crop seeds, or scanning unfamiliar objects.
  2. Use the navigation console to compare planet threat and biome with your equipment and target.
  3. Land, note the surface and any useful landmarks, then scan objects as you encounter them if scanning is part of your goal.
  4. Check natural cave entrances and nearby structures; explore cautiously and collect only loot relevant to your goal or useful supplies.
  5. Use the map and coordinates to record a location worth revisiting, since terrain and structure placement are generated.
  6. Return to the ship by teleporter when inventory, health, or supplies call for it; unload and prepare before another descent.
  7. If the target is scarce, select another planet whose threat and biome support it rather than repeating an unproductive route.

Farming tips

  • Planet size affects how much ground lies between the surface and deeper layers, so smaller planets can shorten some mining trips.
  • Keep environmental protection separate from combat preparation: an EPP does not make a high-threat enemy harmless.

Repeat, collect and use

Exploration can be repeated on different generated worlds. Individual landmarks and deposits are finite, and the next planet’s terrain will differ.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming a remembered cave or structure route will exist on another world; generated terrain changes.
  • Ignoring threat level because the biome looks familiar; use the navigation display and current gear to judge danger.
  • Carrying every incidental item until the inventory is blocked; prioritize the planned resource and return to unload.

When to stop or switch

Stop exploring once your stated target is collected or the route becomes unsafe; return later with better equipment if the destination exceeds your current capability.
