Before you go

Select an ocean fish you need and check its listed season, weather, active hours, and water body.
Travel to the Beach while the target is available; include a shoreline forage sweep if useful.
Find a spot with a clear stretch of ocean and cast so the bobber lands away from nearby land where possible.
Respond to the bite and keep the fish icon within the green bar until the progress meter fills.
Move the bar with controlled presses; avoid holding so long that it overshoots a rapidly moving fish.
Inspect the catch and put bundle, request, or collection fish aside before sorting sale goods.
Continue fishing while the target’s conditions remain active, then sell or cook surplus catches.

Distance from land affects trash chance and can improve average fish size and quality; cast placement matters more than a full meter alone.
Bait reduces waiting time when compatible with your rod, but it does not change which species are available.

Repeat during each valid seasonal and daily window until you obtain the required fish. Catch results vary from cast to cast.

Fishing outside the target’s weather or time window; check those conditions before the Beach trip.
Confusing lake or river targets with ocean species; confirm the target’s water body.
Shipping a fish needed for a bundle or quest; move required catches into storage first.

Stop when the needed catch is secured or its availability window ends; switch to forage, a different target, or another task.
