Prepare for DLC difficulty escalation

Improving the active build before entering a DLC difficulty track makes progression more manageable.

PC / Global with Season Pass missions
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Accessible Chaos missions and the relevant DLC mission board, including later content when unlocked.

Season Pass content adds further mission and difficulty paths, but access depends on the relevant DLC and in-game unlocks. Prepare by strengthening the jobs you actually use through accessible missions, then check the target DLC mission’s listed level and rewards before entering. This is a gear and readiness loop, not a claim that one fixed build or route suits every expansion tier.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Own the relevant Season Pass expansion or DLC.
  • Meet the in-game progression requirements for its mission or difficulty path.
  • Have active jobs and a practical equipment setup ready for higher difficulty.
  1. Confirm the expansion’s missions are available in your world map; DLC ownership alone may not unlock every target.
  2. Use accessible Chaos missions to collect gear and crystals for your active jobs.
  3. At a cube, compare item level and job affinity, replacing weak slots while retaining useful defenses.
  4. Review job actions and abilities for the mission you intend to attempt.
  5. Select the DLC mission and inspect its displayed level and rewards.
  6. Enter only if the level is within reach; clear it and claim the available rewards.
  7. Use new equipment or progression rewards to prepare before raising the next challenge.

Farming tips

  • DLC paths are distinct from base-game Chaos; check the exact mission board entry rather than assuming all content is open.
  • Keep a reliable lower-level route available for gear and crystal collection.

Repeat, collect and use

Preparation missions can be repeated for ordinary drops and listed recurring rewards. DLC mission first-clear rewards are limited to their initial clear.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming all DLC difficulty tracks unlock together; verify the expansion and mission requirements in game.
  • Entering a high tier with under-level gear; improve the active loadout first.
  • Treating a first-clear bonus as repeatable; plan later runs around ordinary drops and recurring rewards.

When to stop or switch

Switch back to preparation if the DLC mission cannot be cleared reliably. Continue escalation only when your current equipment and clear results support it.
