WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Shallow seabed in the Twisty Bridges and nearby underwater areas, including around thermal vent edges.
Ribbon Plants are a crafting resource, not food. Collect a starter by hand in shallow water, then bring it to a base growbed so you can gather material for batteries without relying on wild searches. This guide covers finding and bringing home the starter; establish your cultivated supply before treating it as a dependable reserve.
Leave the drop pod or base with enough oxygen for a shallow search and return.
Search the Twisty Bridges seabed and nearby shallow vent edges for Ribbon Plants.
When you find one, pick it directly by hand; a Knife is not needed.
Collect a starter plant and return to base before extending the search into deeper water.
Place the starter in an Exterior Growbed to begin cultivating a supply.
Once the crop is available, collect Ribbon Plant material from it for battery crafting.
Take the material to a Fabricator and make batteries when needed; keep the planted source growing for future use.
Farming tips
Add the search to an early shallow-water supply trip instead of making a special expedition.
Keep harvested material near the Fabricator so it is ready when you need batteries.
Repeat, collect and use
A wild plant is a one-time collection point. For ongoing supply, harvest from the established growbed crop as it becomes available and leave the planted source in place.
Common mistakes
Using a Knife on the plant: pick it by hand.
Treating the plant as food: save its material for crafting batteries.
Searching deeper when shallow Ribbon Plants are available: begin in the Twisty Bridges and return if the oxygen margin gets low.
When to stop or switch
Stop searching wild patches after bringing home a starter for cultivation. Switch to the growbed supply for later battery material, and resume wild collection only if you need another starter.
