Rainwater Collector Refill Loop
An exposed spot at your base where the Water Collector can gather rain.
Before you go
- A Turtle Shell.
- Four sticks.
- A Water Collector placed at camp.
- A waterskin or old pot if you want to carry collected water.
Farming steps
- Gather a Turtle Shell and four sticks for the collector.
- Build the Water Collector at camp in a spot exposed to rain.
- Leave it in place while you continue normal surface or base activities.
- When you return after rain, check the collector for gathered water.
- Use a waterskin or old pot to collect water for travel, if you have one.
- Keep the filled container with your cave supplies and drink from it when needed.
- Check the collector again on later returns and take any gathered water before setting out.
- Place the collector where you can check it during regular returns to camp.
- Refill your travel container from collected rainwater before leaving, rather than counting on finding water en route.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the check-and-collect loop whenever rain has gathered water. Collection depends on rain, so this is a renewable camp reserve but not an immediate or guaranteed refill.
Common mistakes
- Leaving camp without checking the collector: inspect it before a trip and carry water when available.
- Expecting the collector to fill without rain: keep another water plan for dry periods or travel.
- Building it where you cannot easily access it: choose a reachable exposed place at camp.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting when your travel container is full or you have enough water for the planned trip; check again after returning and after further rain.
