WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Animal Meat

Forest clearings and open forest edges where deer, rabbits, or other wildlife can be seen.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Look for wildlife in open clearings and forest edges where you can see a shot or approach.
  2. Use a bow, spear, or another weapon to hunt an animal you can safely reach.
  3. Collect the meat from the carcass and return to a prepared food station.
  4. Cook a portion at a fire when you need food for the current outing.
  5. Place spare meat on a Drying Rack to preserve it for later travel.
  6. Collect the dried pieces before leaving and keep them available for a cave or scouting run.
  7. Repeat the hunt when the rack reserve runs low.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable through surface hunting when wildlife is available; a particular hunt does not guarantee a specific animal or amount of meat.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving raw meat uncooked or undried for a long trip: process it before departure.
  • Overcooking meat on a fire: watch it and use the rack for longer storage.
  • Chasing prey into an unsafe area: choose another visible target or return to camp.

When to stop or switch

Stop hunting when you have enough food for the next outing and a modest dried reserve on the rack.
