WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Spike Canyon Ice Cave at 256:7:-199 on Prime; the source also places Sulfur on the far side near 183:19:-277.

The Spike Canyon Ice Cave has Iridium pieces in front of its ice wall, making a limited hand-collection trip possible before the deeper passage opens. The source distinguishes this loose material from the deeper cave area. It also notes that this location does not support Iridium extraction, so use a different deposit for automated mining.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Carry oxygen and water for the trip.
  • Have inventory capacity for collected Iridium.
  • Know that reaching the pieces in front of the wall does not require melting the wall.
  1. Navigate to the Spike Canyon Ice Cave at 256:7:-199.
  2. Identify the ice wall and inspect the accessible ground in front of it.
  3. Pick up the loose Iridium pieces you can reach.
  4. Check your inventory and continue only if you have adequate life support and space.
  5. Return to base and store the ore for crafting, including Iridium Rods when available.
  6. If you want to explore the deeper passage, advance Heat to the cited 100 nK melt point and revisit after it opens.

Farming tips

  • The accessible Iridium and the deeper cave contents are separate objectives; the wall need not melt for the front pieces.
  • For a renewable Iridium mine, use Falling Sand Caves or Grand Rift Cave rather than placing an extractor here.

Repeat, collect and use

You can revisit for overlooked pieces, but this is finite hand collection. It is not a renewable extraction site.

Common mistakes

  • Waiting for the ice to melt before collecting the pieces in front: gather those accessible chunks first.
  • Trying to automate this location: the cited guide says Spike Canyon does not support Iridium extraction.
  • Confusing the far-side Sulfur location with the Iridium pickup: keep the target on the near side of the wall.

When to stop or switch

Leave once accessible Iridium is collected or your carry space is full; choose an extraction zone when you need ongoing production.
