WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Biomass

Before you go
- Cultivator building unlocked and supplied with water.
- A stable connection to the energy grid.
- A biomass power plant if using the output as fuel.
Farming steps
- Place a Cultivator on a clear patch near the base or outpost.
- Open its build-mode controls and activate the sapling selection button.
- Choose an available plant species and check the displayed range.
- Connect water and energy so the Cultivator can operate.
- Allow its drones to spawn the selected plants within range.
- Collect the resulting plant output through the available harvesting or logistics setup.
- Send an intentional share to biomass power or material storage, based on current needs.
- Cultivator drones work within a bounded operating area; keep the field inside its displayed range.
- Keep fuel stock separate from plants reserved for other uses so power demand does not consume the whole harvest.
Repeat, collect and use
Continue the cycle while the Cultivator has water and power and the output is being collected. Renew the field as its plants are harvested.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a plant without checking its range: use the area display before committing the field.
- Letting water or power lapse: restore both inputs before expecting more plants.
- Routing all output to fuel: preserve a separate supply if plants are also needed as materials.
When to stop or switch
Pause or remove the cultivation setup if its upkeep competes with essential systems, or if the current biomass reserve is sufficient.
