Adapt an existing item by replacing an affix that conflicts with your build or wastes a useful slot.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Crafting interface with a found item that has an unwanted affix.
Replacing an affix lets you choose a more suitable property from the item’s eligible natural prefix or suffix options. That makes it a targeted repair for an otherwise promising drop, not an unrestricted way to add any effect you want. Check the choices and required materials in the crafting interface before applying the change. Since repeated crafting makes later actions more expensive, compare the item with alternatives first and avoid investing in a base you expect to replace soon. Crafting modifies found gear; it does not produce an item from nothing.
Unlock crafting in the current Early Access build.
Select an item whose base is worth keeping and whose affix is replaceable.
Have the materials and gold displayed for the replacement.
Inspect the item and identify the specific affix that is holding it back.
Compare the item’s base and remaining affixes with gear you already own.
Choose Replace Affix in the crafting interface.
Review eligible prefix or suffix choices and the displayed cost.
Select a result that supports your build, then confirm only if it improves the item’s role.
Equip or store the changed piece and compare it again with later drops.
Farming tips
Replacement options are limited by what can naturally appear on that item; check before planning around a specific result.
Invest in a strong base with other useful properties so the changed affix has a purpose.
Repeat, collect and use
You can replace affixes on eligible items, but each additional crafting action increases material and gold costs. The available choice is constrained, not guaranteed to include every desired property.
Common mistakes
Expecting any affix in the game: choose only among options the interface makes eligible.
Replacing an affix without checking the base: a poor item may not merit the expense.
Spending on repeated changes without comparing drops: stop if the next cost exceeds the likely benefit.
When to stop or switch
Stop once the item supports your build or the remaining eligible choices do not warrant the cost. Switch to another item if a stronger base appears.
