Collect Retaliation drops for build upgrades

Retaliation waves offer faction loot, material drops, and chances at blueprints while agitation can support multiple event triggers.

PC / Global, Year 8 Season 3: Red Horizon (Update Y8S3.2)
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Faction Retaliation markers in Washington, D.C. and Manhattan.

Build faction agitation, trigger a Retaliation, and collect drops during the fight and after completion. This is a repeatable activity rather than a weekly cache guarantee. Reward quantities and event timing can change, so use the current UI and loot notifications.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Endgame access to Retaliations.
  • A build that can handle the selected global difficulty and faction waves.
  • Inventory room for gear and materials.
  1. Defeat faction enemies and complete related activities to raise the faction’s Agitation Meter.
  2. Check the map and Retaliation interface when the meter indicates an event can be triggered.
  3. Start the Retaliation and travel to its marked area.
  4. Clear the event waves while collecting drops; complete a Black Tusk Maneuver objective if one appears and is manageable.
  5. Watch for a Kill Squad and adapt your positioning rather than leaving its units active behind you.
  6. Complete the Retaliation and sweep the area for missed drops during the post-event collection period.
  7. Use the current event panel to determine whether agitation supports another back-to-back trigger, then repeat if desired.

Farming tips

  • The detailed Rise Up guide expanded post-event collection to 90 seconds; collect promptly and rely on the current client timer.
  • The October update describes up to three back-to-back Retaliations when agitation is filled across thresholds; check the current meter.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat as agitation builds. Retaliations are permanent; there is no guaranteed weekly cache in the recorded current mechanics.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving before event completion; finish the objective to receive its completion rewards.
  • Treating every drop as a cache or guaranteed blueprint; inspect the actual loot and reward panels.
  • Waiting for a real-world timer when the meter and event UI show a trigger is available; use the displayed state.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have collected the drops you need or the next event’s difficulty outweighs its likely value; rebuild agitation later.
