Defeating a Phase Beast opens a portal to a challenge chosen from that area’s pool. The challenge objective determines what you do inside, and completing it yields loot. Because the portal draw is random, treat each portal as a chance to run a useful activity rather than a way to select a guaranteed reward. Some challenge guides report that quitting while still inside can reset a challenge; this behavior may depend on the game state, so do not build a route around it without checking your own run.
Before you go Reach an area containing a Phase Beast. Be able to defeat the beast and handle the challenge it opens. Leave inventory space for reward loot. Explore the region until you find the spectral Phase Beast. Defeat it and enter the portal that appears. Read the challenge objective before engaging; identify any target, timer, or hazard shown in the encounter. Complete the objective while collecting accessible loot. Open reward chests and pick up equipment or currency before exiting. Compare the drops in town and return to overworld exploration for another beast or activity. Farming tips Challenge identity is drawn from the area’s pool, so the same region can lead to different tasks. If you want to test a reported quit-and-reenter reset, do so before claiming completion and verify the challenge actually restarts. Repeat, collect and use Repeat with other Phase Beasts. A challenge portal is not a permanent, selectable instance; later beasts can draw different challenges.
Common mistakes Assuming every portal gives the same chest; inspect the objective and adapt to the draw. Leaving without opening available rewards; check the challenge area before returning to the overworld. Treating quitting inside as a guaranteed reset; confirm the result in game before relying on it.
