Before you go
- Inventory space for seeds and harvested Wheat.
- A safe base area with a legal crop planting surface.
- A map with farms, botanists or civilian food buildings to search.
Farming steps
- Choose one farm or botanist location shown on your active map and plan a return route before entering.
- Search its relevant buildings for Wheat Seed; if none appears, check grocers, diners and residences for Wheat.
- Keep collected seeds separate from food so they are not accidentally eaten.
- At base, plant a seed on a suitable surface and let the crop mature.
- Harvest the Wheat and inspect the inventory before crafting or consuming it.
- Use a Wheat-to-Wheat-Seed crafting conversion when you need to replenish the planting reserve.
- Store at least one seed for the next planting cycle and use surplus grain as food or further seed stock.
- Agriculture skill improves crop and plant harvesting, so it can help when farming repeatedly.
- Loot tables vary; search another suitable building type if the first location has no seed.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat seed runs when starting a field or replacing lost stock. Once a crop is established, harvest it and reserve seed before consuming or processing the surplus.
Common mistakes
- Eating the last seed: separate a planting reserve before using food.
- Expecting every farm to contain seeds: loot is map-dependent, so check botanists and civilian food buildings too.
When to stop or switch
Stop the loot run when you have enough seeds to plant and retain a reserve; switch to tending the field instead of repeating the same empty buildings.
