Chains and Guck serve separate Swamp crafting and building needs. A planned visit can gather both without confusing their sources.
WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Chains and Guck
Chains come from Swamp crypts and Wraiths; Guck sacks grow on elevated Swamp trees.
Before you go
- Swamp-ready armor, food, and poison resistance.
- The Elder's key if you plan to search Sunken Crypts.
- A ranged weapon or safe building access for elevated Guck sacks.
Farming steps
- Choose a Swamp with a marked crypt or visible ancient trees and establish a retreat route.
- Unlock a Sunken Crypt with the Swamp Key and check rooms for chains while clearing threats.
- Engage Wraiths only when you have space to move and a prepared weapon.
- Outside the crypt, scan ancient tree trunks for green Guck sacks.
- Break sacks with ranged attacks or build safe access, then collect the Guck.
- Store chains and Guck separately so each material is ready for its own use.
- Return to base and use each material for the crafting or building plan that prompted the trip.
- Crypt exploration offers a more controlled chain search than wandering at night for Wraiths.
- Clear threats below before building access to a sack, and avoid risky climbs over swamp water.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat in other Swamp crypts and tree clusters as needed. Individual sacks and crypts are finite, but the world has additional locations.
Common mistakes
- Searching only at tree bases for Guck: inspect trunks for elevated sacks.
- Fighting Wraiths without a retreat path: choose open ground or focus on crypts.
- Expecting both materials from one source: crypts and Wraiths provide chains; tree sacks provide Guck.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your current chain recipes and Guck plans are supplied; return when another specific use creates a need.
