WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Floating debris beside the trolley during a Void run; refine scrap at the train’s Smelter.
This is the repeatable early material loop for building up your train: collect scrap beside the moving trolley, return safely, and smelt it into iron ingots. Wood is both a building resource and the smelter fuel, so collect and store it alongside scrap.
Before you go A train you can stop or slow near visible debris. Safety tether; use F to reel back. Train storage and a Smelter with wood fuel. Brake or slow the train when scrap is within a short, visible swim from the trolley. Leave the train and collect the scrap directly; pick up nearby wood if it is safely reachable. Reel back with F while the trolley is still close enough for the tether return. Put the haul into a built container before the next gate barrier. At the Smelter, load scrap and wood fuel to produce iron ingots. Store the ingots for the station or component recipe you are preparing. Farming tips Stay near the train and collect visible debris rather than pursuing distant pieces. Keep wood aside for both construction and smelting; do not consume the entire supply as fuel. Repeat, collect and use Repeat on Void runs whenever you need iron or fuel; the debris gathered depends on what appears along the route.
Common mistakes Leaving the tether return until the trolley is too far away; reel back as soon as the haul is collected. Leaving loose scrap on the deck through a gate barrier; move it into a container first. Treating scrap as iron already; smelt it with wood before using it in iron recipes. When to stop or switch Switch to another collection task when your container has enough scrap and wood for the next planned batch of ingots.
